Air Transportation
The airfares quoted are for group economy class on Air India from
New York to Bombay/Delhi based on a minimum of four persons
traveling together. If there are less than four passengers, other
fares may have to be used.
Reservation and Deposits
A deposit of $200 per person is required at the time of reservation
confirmation and will stand automatically canceled if not received
within 10 days. Final payment is due upon request or at least 6
weeks prior to departure. Please inquire for latest rate.
Baggage
At owner's risk, two normal size suitcases will be handled and
transferred free of cost, the dimension of each case should not
exceed 62 inches, or a total 107 inches. Baggage allowance within
India and Nepal is 44 lbs or 20 kgs. A separate insurance for
loss/mishandling of baggage is recommended.
Transfers
From airports / rail stations to hotels and vice versa by automobile
/ motorcoach.
Hotel Accommodation
Accommodation will be at hotels listed or similar on the basis of
twin-bedded rooms with private bath or shower. We reserve the right
to provide alternate accommodation. A single room supplement is
indicated separately and subject to availability.
Meals
Meals are included in most itineraries (except in 'Independent
India' and its extensions). Meals are only included in 'Palace on
Wheels' in Rajasthan.
Sightseeing and Excursions
All Sightseeing and excursions as indicated in the itinerary
admission fees and will be undertaken by motorcoach/ automobiles in
accordance with local conditions. A local English speaking guide
will accompany you on all tours.
Tips and Taxes
Taxes, Service Charges as assessed by hotels and local government
authorities (except airport taxes), and tips to porters at airports
and hotels are included. Tips to guides and chauffeurs, and hotel
staff and restaurant waiters, are not mandatory and are at your
discretion.
Group Size and Tour Guarantee
All our tours are guaranteed to operate on a basis of two passengers
without additional cost and will provide all services indicated,
including those of local hosts in each city.
Cancellation and Refunds
If cancellation is received in writing 6 weeks prior to departure,
full refund will be given, less 200 dollars per person as
administrative charges. Refund restrictions are more strict for
tours including Tiger Tops, Nepal and Palace on Wheels.
Things not included
Alcoholic drinks, dry cleaning, telephone and other personal
expenses are not included. Costs mentioned are on twin sharing
basis. A single room supplement is indicated separately. Also not
included are passport and Visa fees, airport taxes, baggage & flight
insurance, etc.
Visa and Health requirements
Visas are required for U.S. citizens for India and Nepal. While
there are no health vaccinations required currently please check
with your physician for his recommendations.
Exchange Fluctuations
All prices quoted are in U.S. Dollars and based on exchange rates in
effect on September 30, 1999. The rates and prices are subject to
change.
Insurance
COMPARE TRAVEL will not be responsible or liable for personal
injury, illness or accidents and loss, damage or theft of your
personal belongings and baggage. It is in your interest to get
adequate insurance coverage for these eventualities through your
travel agent or us.
Electric Current
Electric supply in India is 220 volts A.C., 50 Hertz. Some areas may
use D.C.
Responsibility
COMPARE TRAVEL and its associated agents, hereinafter referred to as
Operator, act only as agent for the owners or contractors providing
means of transportation other services and all tickets are issued
subject to any and all terms and conditions under such means of
transportation or other services are offered or provided. The
issuance and acceptance of such tickets shall be deemed to be
consent to the further condition that the participating travel agent
and/or Operator shall not be or become liable or responsible in any
way in connection with such means of transportation or other
services, for any loss, injury or damage to or in respect of any
person or property howsoever caused or arising. Should any
circumstances make it desirable or necessary to change or cancel the
travel plan or program such changes or cancellation may be made.
Additional expenses, if any caused thereby shall be borne by the
passenger. Cost of land arrangements and air transportation are
based on tariffs in effect on September 30, 1994. We reserve the
right to alter the quoted costs in the event of any marked increase
or decrease in foreign currency tariff changes or for any other
reason without prior notice. Although the owners or contractors
providing means of transportation or other service will take all
possible care of passenger's baggage or belongings entrusted to
their care, participating travel agent and/or operator does not in
any way accept responsibility in the event of loss or injury
thereto. Air India and other transportation companies concerned are
not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the
time passengers are not on board their planes or conveyances. The
passenger contract in use by the carriers concerned, when issued,
shall constitute the sole contract between the airlines of
transportation companies and purchaser of this tour and/or
passengers. ALL PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE AND ARE
QUOTED IN U.S. DOLLARS.
